THE GROUND FLOOR

Plenty of entertaining space and comfortable rooms including a large, impressive drawing room with open fire and garden views.

In addition to the drawing room there is a cosy snug with television.

The kitchen includes a large dining area seating sixteen. Well equipped the kictchen is ideal for cooking family meals or catering for a crowd.

The pantry is multi-purpose serving as a boot room with masses of storage space. It houses a wine fridge and ice maker.

The utility area of the house has a washing machine, dryer and extra fridge.

A shower room and a cloakroom can also be found on the ground floor.

There are two double bedrooms on this level, the Garden Room & Vendee Globe. Both have king sized beds, one also has a study space with garden views. 

The loggia provides an alternative dining area with direct access to the garden, perfectly positioned for dining and to enjoy the evening summer light.

Use of a gun cupboard, with space for 16 guns, on request.

 

FIRST FLOOR

Use either of the two staircases to the first floor where you will find 6 bedrooms all with ensuite shower rooms:

America’s Cup, a stunning enormous bedroom, with super king bed, two sofas and views over the garden, a bathroom with double basins, walk in shower and large Edwardian bath.

Admiral’s Cup, with kings sized bed, also has a freestanding bath romantically raised on a dais, in addition to it’s ensuite shower room.

Fastnet, a twin room.

Antigua & Round the Island rooms with king size beds.

And Sydney Hobart a large room with 4 single beds.

 

THE GARDEN

The white rendered walls enclose the private garden. There is plenty of furniture for outside dining and a large lawn, perfect for outside games

There is private off street parking for several cars.

Guests are welcome to bring up to two dogs. 

HISTORY

A hidden treasure with influence from the renowned architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, the White House was built as a summer villa before the First World War, at the height of Edwardian exuberance, by the previous owner’s grandfather who had commissioned Lutyens to remodel his 17C house in Leicestershire, Papillon Hall. Part of the design for Papillon was incorporated into the design for the White House.

A delightful , quaint and stylish cottage in the sought after village of Bembridge, with its artisan shops , restaurants and amenities.

The cottage has two bedrooms and sleeps 4 comfortably. The decor style is comfortable bohemian .

There’s a log burner in the sitting room for cosy candlelit evenings in. The house is located on a quiet road within walking distance of the village and a short walk to the beach. It has a small private garden with bbq and sun loungers

The space

Situated on a quiet road just minutes from the popular, pretty village centre and beaches, the property has a pretty garden to the back and parking along the unmade private road. Everything you could need is within walking distance.

The accommodation is arranged over two floors.  With a family bathroom upstairs. The cottage is a good size for couples or a small family. NB/ the stairs are narrow and would not suite young children or anyone less able to manage the narrow footing. 

Downstairs:

The kitchen area is well equipped with gas hob, microwave, oven, fridge and dishwasher. 

Off of the kitchen is a small conservatory with washing machine and drying line.

Upstairs:

There are 2 bedrooms, one double room with dressing room and a twin room and shared bathroom. 

Outside:

The garden has two sun loungers and a bbq perfect for enjoying the fresh air.

It is fenced and has a small gate at the front, perfect for keeping little ones/dogs safe.

THE GARDEN

The white rendered walls enclose the private garden. There is plenty of furniture for outside dining and a large lawn, perfect for outside games

Guests are welcome to bring up to two dogs. 

HISTORY

A hidden treasure with influence from the renowned architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, the White House was built as a summer villa before the First World War, at the height of Edwardian exuberance, by the previous owner’s grandfather who had commissioned Lutyens to remodel his 17C house in Leicestershire, Papillon Hall. Part of the design for Papillon was incorporated into the design for the White House.

About this property

 

A wonderful family house, delightfully decorated, comfortably furnished, with a large secure garden. Tucked away on a quiet cul de sac this is a beautiful Bembridge home, 6 minutes walk from the beach and 5 minutes to the High Street.

The Space

There are 3 bedrooms: One king, one twin and one single.

One shower room downstairs and one bathroom with bath & shower upstairs.

The ground floor is open plan with living, kitchen and dining areas.

The dining area opens on to the garden where you will find a fire pit, patio heaters and a garden dining set that seats 12. There is a table tennis table and croquet set available for garden games.

The snug with smart Tv and lots if comfy seating is found in a chalet style cabin in the garden.
