Isle of Wight

Just a few miles off the Hampshire coast the Isle of Wight combines a good climate, a diverse landscape and coastline, with a wide variety of events. The waters of The Solent are world renowned for sailing, playing host to the annual Cowes Week Regatta.

Extending to about 150 square miles, about half of the Island is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The varied landscapes range from rolling chalk downland, to sandy bays and unspoilt creeks. The Island offers over 60 cultural and family-orientated attractions and an abundance of good restaurants and pubs - with many specialising in quality local produce including seafood, wine, garlic and cheese. There is a varied programme of festivals and events taking place during the course of the year and the Island plays host to a variety of sporting spectacles.
